Creating users
Users can be created manually or imported via a .CSV file containing their details.
There is a format you must follow when adding users. The order each element appears in is also important:
(1st) Email address, (2nd) first name, (3rd) surname, (4th) company name, (5th) MVP* tag
*MVP stands for ‘most valuable people’. Tagging a user as ‘true’ for this field will promote their activity to the dashboard. N.B. you can still review all activity in the Activity Report area at any time.
Example:
jbloggs@perivan.com, Joe, Bloggs, Perivan, false
(separate each element with a comma)
To add a user(s), click on the ‘Users’ area on the left of the screen.
Note: The ‘Upload list’ field has a greyed-out example of the format you should follow when creating a user (all elements separated with commas); circled above.
Enter your user(s) details in the Upload list (left-hand panel) following the format above. Hit return and start a new line to enter a new user.
Alternatively, you can import your pre-defined csv user file using the right-hand panel – drag & drop or browse to locate your file.
Your user data will be checked and validated at the bottom of the page. Any errors will be flagged with an ‘Invalid value’ status.
You can continue with errors (the users with errors will not be imported), fix the data in the ‘Upload list’ panel, or click the ‘Import it again’ link to upload a corrected csv file.
Click Save & continue. A screen will appear allowing you to add the user(s) to existing Groups (if groups exist in the project):
If you do not wish to add the user(s) to a group, click Save & continue to complete the process (you can add users to groups at any point in the Project Settings area of the project).
Note: all manually imported users will be given the ‘Investor’ role as a default. If they need to be assigned a different role, then change this before sending their invite (please see ‘Managing User roles’ guide).
Lastly, send the user(s) their invites. You can do this by clicking on their name in the ‘Users’ area to open the side panel options and click ‘Send invite’.
If you have more than one invite to send, click ‘Send remaining invites’ and select the relevant users in the dialogue box that appears, then click ‘Send invites’.
