Folder permissions
A user’s role is set at project level on the ‘Users’ screen and will apply to all folders.
If a user has the Content Manager role, access can be granted at folder level to facilitate view, upload & download capabilities.
If a user has the base level role at project level - Bidder or Investor - you can break this role inheritance on a folder-by-folder basis and allow certain users additional privileges in any given folder(s).
For example, if a Bidder/Investor has read-only access to folders one to nine, they can have their powers enhanced to allow the downloading of native files from folder 10 (i.e. Word, Excel files etc.). This is done by assigning the ‘Power Investor’ role at folder level.
To assign a role at folder level, navigate to the folder(s) in question in the ‘Documents’ area. Click on the three dots associated with that folder to reveal the context panel and click ‘Folder Access’:
Next, click the ‘+’ button (plus sign) next to the role you’d like to assign:
Using the ‘Select…’ drop-down menu, choose the user(s) that should have this role assigned on this folder:
Click away to close the menu and then click ‘Add’.
A summary list of the users you have chosen will be displayed. Click save to apply the folder permissions:
Note: if the user appears in a yellow panel with a red (active) trash icon, then the user has been added at that particular folder level (and can be removed if necessary).
If a user has been given folder access above the sub-folder you are viewing, they will appear as greyed out with the trash icon inactive:
